Podcast Episode 95: Listener Questions: How to Talk to Your Kids About Sex

How do you talk to kids about sex? Whether your kid is 6 years old or 16 years old, it’s not an easy conversation (for many of us).

Especially because it can pop up anywhere (like the local grocery store parking lot) and be about anything (“Mom, what’s a vagina?”)…as a result so many of us are caught off guard and just don’t know what to say.

Hence the need for one of our “Listener Questions” episodes where we ask our No Guilt Mom listeners to send us their parenting challenges for us to offer some help.

In this podcast episode, we answer one of our listeners, Liz’s question:

When do you have the sex talk with kids? My son is 6 years old & must have learned about this on YouTube and basically, he knows about C-Section.

I told him “he was born the old fashion way (vaginally).” I was seriously dodging the question.

When do you have the birds and bees talk?

Join us as we chat about that somewhat taboo subject of sex! How do you answer your kids questions about where they came from? How does a baby come out of a mom’s tummy? What does it mean when people “love” one another? What is sex?

…and more!

In this episode of the No Guilt Mom podcast you’ll learn:

  • What is a good age to talk to your kids about sex
  • The benefits of talking about sex with your kids earlier than their teen years
  • How to answer those awkward questions that come at certain ages
  • What resources are available to help you with the conversation of how to talk to kids about sex
