Podcast Episode 253: The Mom Food Fight: We Don’t Do Homemade and Neither Should You!

No question always feels like nails on a chalkboard to me…”Mom…What’s for dinner?”

It’s funny how that one simple question can bring up so many feelings…including guilt. I’m wondering, like me, do you ever feel a pang of guilt as you reach for pre-packaged snacks or order takeout, knowing that homemade meals seem like a distant dream?

Well, I have a truth bomb for you…

It’s time to let go of the guilt associated with not making every meal and snack from scratch!

We’re sure we don’t have to tell you that social media is PACKED with videos of Moms making some seriously deluxe meals for their kids from scratch, on the daily (don’t even get us started on the Bentgo lunch box videos). We’re bombarded with images of perfectly curated meals on social media, and while they are impressive, these videos can create a LOT of stress, worry, and guilt for those of us who don’t find joy in making meals or just enjoy handing our kids a store-bought granola bar.

It’s important to know where your priorities are as a Mom and where you want to put your energy – if that’s not food prep (and eventual consumption) for your kids – that is OKAY!

We’re talking all about how to let go of the need to feed today and why making homemade everything for your kids isn’t worth it if it’s going to make you more stressed out. It’s like they say when your baby is an infant – fed is BEST and we believe that wholeheartedly. Grab your favorite (pre-packaged) snack and take a listen!

In this episode of the No Guilt Mom podcast you’ll learn:

  • About common stressors and guilt Moms experience related to the food they make/give to their kids
  • Why sharing the task of meal planning with your partner will revolutionize your relationship with feeding your kids
  • How to help your kids build healthy eating habits no matter what you’re feeding them
  • That spending your time doing what you love is important. If that’s making food for those you love, fantastic! If not – buy the granola bars and be proud!!
