One of my favorite holiday treats is a cranberry cream cheese bar.  When I bite into one, I immediately melt from the rich sweetness of the cream cheese frosting followed by the tartness of the cranberries dotting the top.

I wanted to capture that taste in a drink.  This beverage perfectly balances tart and sweet in the ideal mocktail.  Plus, this non-alcoholic version captures the taste of traditional sangria perfectly with no liquor or wine needed.  However, if you would like to add alcohol, I can tell you an easy way to do that.

You can add a personal touch to your Thanksgiving meal with very little time involved – it takes only minutes to prepare! You can also make it at any time, because while it can be served immediately, the flavors blend together nicely when it’s left to sit in the fridge.

I tend to overindulge during the holidays, but I can feel less guilty about indulging with this mock sangria because I used 7UP TEN® soda that I found at Walmart. I get the sweetness with only 10 additional calories per serving.  Score!

Making the Punch

For this drink, I mixed unsweetened white grape juice and pure cranberry juice (don’t use cocktail, because it will be too sweet) in a large pitcher.  If you would like to add alcohol, swap the white grape juice for a crisp white wine like pinot grigio.

I then added vanilla syrup and a cinnamon stick.  I chopped an apple and added it to the pitcher along with a cup of fresh cranberries.

Right before serving, I poured in the 7UP TEN® soda.7up-TEN-mock-sangria
