Are you Wearing the Right Bra?

How to Put on a Bra

Before, I just clasped the bra and slid the straps over my shoulders.  I mean, that’s how you put on a bra, right?

Yes, but do that as well as:

Check the Hook

On brand new bras, you should always use the hook closest to the end of the strap.  As the bra ages, it will lose its elasticity.  When that happens, you move into the second hook and then the third.  This will keep your band fitting as it should.

Adjust all Breast Tissue

Ha!  There’s no more accurate way to say it but that!

Basically, you need to make sure that your entire breast fills the cup and doesn’t smush under the side. To do this,

  1. If adjusting the left cup, grab the side of the cup with your left hand.
  2. Using your right hand, go in through the top, cup your breast around the left side.
  3. Move the entire breast toward the center.

This move on each side will noticeably impact your cleavage and give you the best shape possible.  I demonstrate the process in the Facebook Live video below.

Check Your Straps

You are looking for the following issues in the fit of your straps.

If the dig into your shoulders, they are too tight.  Same if your band rides up to your shoulder blade and creates pockets of breast tissue under your armpits.  Loosen those straps!

If the straps fall off your shoulders, tighten those straps down.

When properly adjusted, you should be able to fit an index finger in between your body and the bra strap.

Ready to change the way you look in clothes with a proper bra fit?  The right bra not only makes you feel AH-mazing, but it helps with your posture and your general comfort level during the day.

Now, you know exactly what to look for in your next bra fitting expedition.  Want to go further with your wardrobe?  Click on!
